In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we invited the community to learn more about medical cannabis for the potential relief, treatment, and prevention of cancer. Cancer is a devastating disease that produces a myriad of uncomfortable symptoms. These are due, not only to the disease itself but also to the side effects of cancer treatment. Cannabis usage has been proven to alleviate many of these issues. This presentation covered the proper and successful usage of medical cannabis to help cancer patients.

Cannabis & Mindful Care During COVID-19 - Past Event

In recognition of this year’s World Mental Health Day (October 10), this presentation covered what people can do to take care of their mental health while staying safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. Faced with health and economic challenges, more people are experiencing increased anxiety and social isolation than before. During this presentation, we will go over how to support one’s own mental health, and that of friends, family, and the greater community. In relation to Hawaii’s Medical Cannabis Program, we also covered medical cannabis products and mental health, as well as which mental health conditions are a qualifying condition for a medical cannabis card in Hawaii. 

Rick Simpson Oil: Facts & Myths - Past Event

Originally popularized in 2003 by Rick Simpson, Rick Simpson Oil or "RSO" is a cannabis concentrate used for many medical benefits. RSO has even been reported by patients to help relieve symptoms commonly experienced by cancer patients. This presentation discussed Rick Simpson Oil, its history, usage and dosage: including the facts as well as myths surrounding this popular medical cannabis product.
